On October 13, the first Fellowship Awarding Ceremony of the Chinese Society for Biomaterials was held at the opening ceremony of the 2023 China Biomaterials Conference. Forty-six inaugural Fellows, including Prof. Weidong Tian, Founder and Chief Scientist of Chengdu Shilian Kangjian Biotechnology Co., Ltd. and Professor of West China Stomatological Hospital of Sichuan University, were formally conferred with the highest honorary title for life by the Chinese Society for Biomaterials, and at the same time, Prof. Weidong Tian was hired as a member of the fourth Council of the Chinese Society for Biomaterials.

 Fellow of the Chinese Society for Biomaterials (FCSBM) is the highest life-long honorary title for members of the Chinese Society for Biomaterials, which was established by the Ninth Meeting of the Third Standing Council of the Chinese Society for Biomaterials in recognition of the outstanding contributions made by outstanding members to the development of biomaterials and the work of the Society. It is selected every two years.

The first Fellows of the Chinese Society for Biomaterials (CSB) were invited from academicians of the two academies and Fellows of the International Society for Biomaterials Science and Engineering (ISBE), and were elected by the Executive Council.
